KTH 604 Grey Oxide Primer

KTH GREY OXIDE PRIMER 604 is an economical solvent based metal and wood primer for both interior and exterior use. It is formulated to give good performance and longevity of the topcoat to enhance the quality.

USES

As primer in a multi-coat coating system. Most suitable for use on steel, GI and others surfaces. Main for general industrial steel painting. 

COMPOSITION

Pigment : Grey Oxide pigment.
Binder : Modified alkyd resin
Solvent : Hydrocarbon

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE PAINT: 

Density :1.30– 1.39.
Volume Solid :70 ± 5%
Viscosity :67 ± 5 KU at 30°C
Theoretical Coverage :9– 14 m2 /litre
Colour :Grey oxide.

COATING PROPERTIES: 

Recommended Dry Film Thickness : 50-80 microns per coat
Recommended Wet Film Thickness : 70 - 115 microns per coat
Recommended Coating System : 1) AC 750 or AC 736 / 736 / 9600 HG / 5953 HG 2) 604 AC / 604 / 9600 HG / 5953 HG Recommended Numbers of coat : One to two
Drying Time : Touch Dry: 20 Minutes
                        Hard Dry: 1 to 2 Hours
Recoating interval : At least 8 hours
Curing Time : 1 day

SURFACE PREPARATION

Previous painted surface and bare substrate must be completely dry and free from rust, mill-scale, dirt, grease and other contaminants before painting. For maximum adhesion and durability of paint performance, all bare surfaces should be prepared by meant of sand paper, hand tools, power tools and etc.

APPLICATION METHOD: 

Method of Application : Brush, roller, and spray application.
Product Preparation : Stir mixture thoroughly before use. No thinning is required. However, 10% of thinner can be added for workability.
Pot Life (at 30oC) : No pot life limit.

SAFETY PRECAUTION: 

1. This product is flammable.
2. Keep away from sources of ignition.
3. Keep container tightly closed and keep out of reach of children.
4. Wear suitable personal protective clothing during painting.
5. Ensure adequate ventilation. Do not breathe or inhale spray mist.
6. Do not apply when the relative humidity exceeds 85%.
7. Avoid skin and eye contact. Spillage on skin should be removed immediately with cleanser, soap and water. Eye shoul
